The Sunken Gardens, which sit at the edge of Historic City Hall, are an Atascadero gem. This beautifully restored, historic green space has a central fountain and curved paths throughout the park. 
 
Atascadero Lake Park is a local favorite, known for its scenic lake and winding walking paths. The park has a large children’s play area, paddleboats, and bike rentals for plenty of outdoor fun. Large picnic areas round out this expansive park and give residents the perfect spot to enjoy the ideal coastal California weather. The Charles Paddock Zoo is located inside Atascadero Lake Park.
