The Equestrian Center has been at Heritage Ranch since the first property was sold. The original developer used to give a pony to any property owner that wanted one. The goal for the Equestrian Center is to continue to make improvements and upgrades for the riding enjoyment of all Heritage Ranch Equestrian Center members.
The Equestrian Center has a total of 87 paddocks with 18 paddocks added in 2004 in the new section. Paddocks are currently available for lease in both areas, and are leased on a monthly basis.
Riders at the Equestrian Center have riding abilities ranging from just beginning to expert. Many breeds are represented including: Quarter Horses, Arabians, Morgans, Appaloosas, Paints, Pasos, National Show Horses, Warmbloods to Miniature Horses. At the center there is dressage, hunter-jumper, cutting, reining cow, team penning, and working cow horses as well as mini's that pull carts, plus a large number of the members have trail horses to utilize the great trails at Heritage Ranch.
Living on Heritage Ranch allows access to Lake Nacimiento and a private marina. These facilities are located at the end of Heritage Rd, on the west end of The Ranch, just beyond the campground.
The boat launch ramp and courtesy dock are available free of charge for residents so they do not have to go use the public facilities at Lake Nacimiento Resort. Boats need to have a current Mussel Inspection and pay day use or yearly pass fees to Monterey County for use of the lake.
Beyond the Marina is “The Point”, a popular spot to day beach at the water’s edge. Pack up your pop-up canopy, cooler, and a raft to spend the day lakeside. You can fish from The Point as well, and there is a fish cleaning station as you exit the marina area.
An amazing place to camp, Heritage Ranch offers many choices suited to your needs.
RV Camping
The RV camping comes with full hook-up and a lovely view of the lake. This area is located on the road to the Marina, just after turning off of Heritage Road.
Tent Camping
The tent camping area is located just a bit closer to the Marina. Each campsite is clearly marked and has a picnic table. Tent sites 15-19 are available for reservations.
Day Camping
Day camping is on a first-come-first-serve basis. All canopies must be removed daily. Campsites 20 and 21 have been permanently converted to day use picnic sites only. There is no adjacent parking at these tables. Parking for these two locations is in the marina marked parking lot.
All Camping Reservations must be made through the HROA Office.
Campsites may be reserved up to, but not more than, 30 days prior to the reservation date.
Heritage Park Pool
The Heritage Park pool was officially opened on October 11, 2003, and was fully resurfaced in April 2020. An extensive new solar system was added to heat the pool in 2005, which allows us to maintain a water temperature at around 82 degrees during the summer season. The pool is closed during the off season each year, which begins around October 1 and ends Memorial Day weekend.
Equestrian Park Pool
The Equestrian Pool, is open 11 am to 7pm everyday. The Equestrian Park pool normally closes in late summer when usage drops. Pool occupancy is a maximum of 23 members at any given time as limited by county permits. Other rules apply due to maximum usage rate, so be informed before you go.
The Pickleball community is robust at The Ranch, and the three well maintained courts are the perfect place to play! The resurfaced basketball courts are right next to the Pickleball courts at Gateway Park too.
At the Equestrian Park, you’ll find recently resurfaced tennis courts for your enjoyment.
